Samantha Kappagoda was invited to speak on AI governance at the 3rd Annual Women Get On Board Summit in Toronto on May 15, 2024. Samantha participated in a panel titled Data and AI Governance, addressing how board members can consider incorporating AI into corporate strategy, and what risks and challenges might be faced in doing so. Her perspective, which is informed by active board service, data science expertise, and cross-jurisdictional experience, addressed the data governance foundations that underpin responsible AI strategy, and the specific considerations that Canadian boards face in navigating an evolving regulatory environment for AI and data.
